West Oaks Mall Table Tennis Basics 101 Class

Open to everyone!!!

This class is designed for the beginning player brand new to table tennis. A new player first needs to have an understanding of the sport of Table Tennis. Know the rules of how to play, some history of the sport, and a willingness to learn new thing. Table Tennis will enhance reflexes,  strength,  movement, mental agility and the “feel good” endorphins that will keep learners coming back for more!

Class is instructed by a USATT coach with 25yrs experience playing and coaching Adults, kids and seniors. As mentioned this class is intended for beginners with little or no experience at any level. Since players are not expected to have control the pace of this class will be in according with the level of the over all class.  The Instructor will evaluate all participants prior to class to be placed in either intermediate Intro to Table Tennis or the beginning  Table Tennis Basics 101 class.

Skills Highlighted:

v  Official USATT Rules of Table Tennis

v  Class instructed only in official shakehand  or penhold playing styles, no others permitted.

v  Descriptions of table tennis equipment, new rule changes

v  Ball control drills

v  Basic underspin push technique, forehand and backhand.

v  Correct way to serve

v  Participants will be learning to soft volley the ball with each other for practice, NO GAMES PLAYED.

Expectations:

v  Keep and open mind! You may be expected to think and play table tennis differently than the way you have expected, but everyone can learn!

v  Every instruction will come with an exact reason of why and the basis for the concept.

v  Every participant will have the option for discounted personal and group lessons

v  Be relaxed and ready to have fun with others on a group learning something new!

Class Details:

v  Class Time –  2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday and Sunday

v  Sign up 1:30 to 1:55, ends 1:55 SHARP.

v  Paddles and Balls are provided for class, just bring a smile and good energy!

v  This will be a 1 hour drill and lecture session with no breaks so be prepared!

v  Class size limited to 10 participants.

v Class price is $10 per session.

West Oaks Mall Introduction to Table Tennis Class

Open to everyone!!!

This class is designed to introduce the intermediate garage and recreational center ping pong players to the higher level sport of Table Tennis. Table Tennis will enhance reflexes,  strength,  movement, mental agility and the “feel good” endorphins that will keep learners coming back for more!

Class is instructed by a USATT coach with 25yrs experience playing and coaching Adults, kids and seniors. As mentioned this class is intended for persons with some amount of experience playing ping pong at or above a recreational center playing level. Instructor will evaluate all participants prior to class to be placed in either intermediate or the beginning  Table Tennis Basics 101 class.

Skills Highlighted:

v  Official USATT Rules of Table Tennis

v  Class instructed only in official shakehand  or penhold playing styles, no others permitted.

v  Serves and service return.

v  Basic underspin push technique, forehand and backhand.

v  Basic topspin and block technique, forehand and backhand.

v  Participants will be learning to topspin rally with each other for practice, NO GAMES PLAYED.

Expectations:

v  Keep and open mind! You may be expected to think and play table tennis differently than the way you have played for years or even decades, but everyone can learn!

v  Every instruction will come with an exact reason of why and the basis for the concept.

v  Every participant will have the option for discounted personal and group lessons

v  Be relaxed and ready to have fun with others on a group learning something new!

Class Details:

v  Class Time – 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday and Sunday

v  Sign up 12:00 to 12:25, ends 12:25 SHARP.

v  Paddles and Balls are provided for class, just bring a smile and good energy!

v  This will be a 1 hour drill and lecture session with no breaks so be prepared!

v  Class size limited to 10 participants.
